Mr. Polzin hopes that every broker in Canada acknowledge their desire to act in good faith, provide knowledge about our products. and make themselves accessible to the general public on the internet. Why the internet? We ask, because most insurance companies , direct marketers, and direct writers and banks plan on selling some form of insurance on the internet in the near future. Your clients will be solicited in some form. By acclamation brokers will lose this market share by not being present. www. Lifeinsurancebrokers.com is not an MGA, nor a software company, the site recognizes that without collective promotion the ability for one individual broker to promote oneself is next to impossible on the internet. Today there are over 1.0million sites already referring to insurance products.

Our goal is to allow every company and every broker that wishes to participate on the internet access to this site and collectively promote it to the public. Sites that are developing and are successful have no intention of involving the brokerage industry . The end result is that the public will come to this site for one stop shopping. In fact the motto is All the companies , all the brokers, all the products , all the time. Some companies that do not participate on this site have already acknowledged they no longer want to be identified with the independent brokers. Sites similar to this in the USA are having great success and believe the public is best served on sites similar to this.
 
 

Mr. Polzin graduated from the University of Guelph with a B.Sc., in 1978
 
 

He entered the life insurance industry in 1980, qualified Mdrt and then went on to agency management.
 
 

In the early eighties he formed VIP Insurance Brokers Limited, a general insurance firm including life health and group. During the late 80's with the change in provincial regulations and the Insurance company consolidation in the Property Casualty industry the company was sold.

During the next few years Ian with other brokers across Ontario became political in their support of the independent brokerage industry and lobbied the provincial government for support of the industry.

In 1993 he formed Polzin Insurance and Consultants, a group insurance and Life specialty company.

In the late part of 1996 realizing the impact that the Internet would have on the mutual fund industry and the life industry he believed that the success of brokers in the future would be determined by the added value in the relationship between clients and the brokers. That was the inspiration and catalyst for the development of the site.

He has since registered brokers from across Canada on this site and has a target of over 2,000 brokers to give the site the national representation necessary to service both the public and the brokers of Canada.

MGA's and Companies are asked to support the site as this is their method of acknowleging their support of the brokerage system of distribution. Currently over 15 companies have been asked to contribute to the sites development and more will be asked to contribute support over the next year. Over 52 companies can be accessed from the site currently and all companies are welcome that work through brokers.

Our goal is to recognize that the mono company web sites will not have internet success without significant advertising budgets allocated. Like wise individual brokers sites will have little success on the internet without similar advertising budgets. www. Lifeinsurancebrokers.com plans on cooperative advertising taking advantage of the companies and broker numbers. The inspiration and success of the site depends on the concept of Multicompany representation , which means the public will acknowledge this site over the mono company sites.

Ian is a CFP,CLU,CHFC, and believes education is critical to our industries future and recommends all brokers obtain designations in their fields on top of any continuing education. He especially feels that technological education is mandatory if you wish to communicate with your clients in a manner that they will demand.

Although some brokers feel that their position is secure for the near future ,he asks they participate on the site to support their fellow brokers in the goal of maintaining market share.
